Where some pubs are painstakingly recreated, made to resemble and exude the charm of a bygone era, the Timber's Bar actually is a bygone-era bar!

Timbers Historic Bar-A Brief History
The historic bar that is the centerpiece of Timbers Restaurant was commissioned and built on the East Coast in the 1890's and traveled around the Horn on a clipper ship to be placed in the Auburn Opera House, which served as a significant entertainment site during the era. A twenty-foot area in front of the Opera House was reserved for the saloon, where it was hoped the famous entertainers would stop after the show for dramatic performances. They did.
In 1994, after years of hosting popular stage shows, temperance meetings, silent movies and "talkies", the picturesque building with the "most marvelous sounds anyone could ask for" was transformed into the Auburn Bowling Alley. The harsh fate of the glorious structure was sealed by a disastrous fire in 1957. Prior to the fire, the beautiful oak and mahogany bar that was the center of so many celebrations and controversies, was moved to a beer distributor's warehouse where it gathered dust and fell into a sad state of disrepair. Placer County Municipal Court Judge Jackson Willoughby and his wife Elaine purchased the bar in 1973, had it refurbished and made it the gathering place for their family commemorations.
In 1995, the Willoughby's purchased a home in Sun City Roseville and sold the bar to the Del Webb Corporation for use in the community's restaurant and lounge.
The treasured antique has recently been thoroughly restored to maintain its historic authenticity. While Sun City Roseville residents and guests may not meet John Philip Sousa at the rail, they are certain to enjoy the warm, inviting companionship of friends and neighbors while stopping by to visit a revered symbol of the past - here at the Timbers Restaurant.
You're cordially invited into our historic bar for a cold one, a bit of "pub grub" and the opportunity to tell wonderfully-embellishing tales of your most recently completed round!
